SRINAGAR, Aug 10 (SABAH): All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the killing of 16- year old student in firing by government forces in Tral. A spokesman of the amalgam termed the forces’ action as ‘dictatorial and aggressive’.
“The Hurriyat Conference strongly condemns the firing on protesters at Gulab Bagh, Tral, in Pulwama district by the government forces in which a 16- year- old student Muhammad Younus Sheikh was martyred and several others injured critically,” a spokesman of the APHC, in a statement, said, expressing solidarity with the family of slain youth and praying for the speedy recovery of those injured in the firing.
Paying rich tributes to the slain student and three armed youth who were slain during the forces’ operation at Gulab Bagh, Tral, the spokesman said, “Use of military might is the only way government chooses to deal with the sentiment and political aspirations of people of Kashmir. Our youth have been pushed to the wall and are getting killed in their quest for justice and resolution of the Kashmir dispute. People of Kashmir are being pressurized and squeezed from all sides. While young Kashmiri boys are killed almost each day, scores of them are arbitrarily arrested and put in jails where they languish for months and years while many of them are sent to jails outside the valley where they face severe weather conditions.”
Meanwhile, the spokesman has strongly condemned the alleged harassment of Kashmiris by the government of India through the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The spokesman also condemned the summoning of Nayeem Geelani and Naseem Geelani, the two sons of senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani, to New Delhi by NIA, calling it as the “worst form of political vendetta.”
