SRINAGAR, Nov 28 (SABAH): All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to noted journalists late Khawja Sanaullah Bhat and Sufi Ghulam Muhammad on their death anniversaries.
“Both of them were the pioneers of journalism in Kashmir and their contribution to its growth and development in the state is immense. Their in-depth understanding of political and social issues facing the people and the manner in which they portrayed it ,shows both their literary capabilities and their close connect with the people especially the common masses. People of Kashmir will always remember these great sons of the soil with respect and affection,” Mirwaiz, in a statement, said.
Mirwaiz also condoled the death of veteran journalist and social activist Om Saraf.
He said, “Late Saraf had close relations with Shaheed e Millat Mirwaiz Farooq as they both shared the common concern for the rights of the downtrodden and harmony and goodwill among all communities living in the state.” Meanwhile, a delegation of Hurriyat leaders today visited the house of late Om Saraf in Jammu and conveyed Mirwaiz’s condolences and sympathies to his son Pushp Saraf and other members of the bereaved family.
