WASHINGTON, 14 (SABAH): The government of United States has expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the Lahore suicide blast on Monday.
This was said by Department of State Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner during a press briefing in Washington. On the occasion he said America is with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. He added America stood by its stance on peace in South Asia.
At least 13 people, including two top police officers of Punjab, were martyred and around 108 people were injured in a suicide attack during protests staged by chemists at Lahore’s Mall Road.
Mark Toner said that United States stands with Pakistan in the war against terrorism. He said that terrorists targeted peaceful protesters and security personnel in the attack. He added that US is committed for peace in the region.
Toner stated that United States will continue to cooperate with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. The state department spokesman expressed his condolences to families of the deceased and sympathy to those injured.
