ISLAMABAD, Mar 20 (SABAH): President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the educated youth to play an active role in establishment of an enlightened society.
He was speaking the convocation of National University of Modern Language (NUML) in Islamabad on Monday.
The President referred to the menace of extremism and terrorism and said the Government and state institutions are taking practical measures to tackle the challenge but it cannot be addressed by force alone. He said the educated youth should become instrumental in bringing about a sustainable change.
President Mamnoon Hussain said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a harbinger of an economic revolution but its fruits would accrue only if there is peace and stability. Therefore, it is responsibility of every segment of the society especially educated youth to transform the national narrative.
He also urged NUML to draw up a plan to impart meaningful knowledge of foreign language to people of Pakistan so that they can benefit from the opportunities arising out of implementation of CPEC and visits by foreign industrialists and businessmen.
The President expressed the confidence that establishment of an International Campus of NUML at Urumqi in China would contribute towards realization of this objective.
The President said he saved expenditure of Aiwan-e-Sadr and made a contribution for establishment of a campus of NUML at Gwadar so that Chinese language is taught to the people of the region.
